Jennifer Garner’s boyfriend, John Miller, reportedly struggled as she acted as a “marriage counselor” and “mediator” in her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s separation from Jennifer Lopez.
“John doesn’t like sharing Jen, and there is a divide when it comes to her and Ben,” a source told the Daily Mail Thursday.
“He wishes it wasn’t like that because he understands they are a family, but it gets to him like it would anyone.”
“John doesn’t have any fears that they are getting back together — but it has been tough coping with her support for Ben during his split from J.Lo.”
While the “Alias” alum and the Cali Group chairman are reportedly still together, the pair have been actively working to get to a “better place” following her ex’s divorce saga.
“John is looking forward to Ben and J.Lo’s split being done so he can start focusing on Jen,” the insider added.
“It is just going to take a little time. They both want to be in a better place, but some work needs to be done.”
The source also told the outlet Miller’s patience as she supported Affleck made the “13 Going on 30” star, 52, fall even harder for the businessman.
“The relationship that Ben and Jen have is different, and where that bothers John, Jen actually likes that it is different because that is what attracted her to John in the first place,” the insider explained.
Reps for Garner and Miller did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Garner has been dating Miller since 2018. They have kept their relationship out of the spotlight.
She and Affleck, 52, were together between 2005 and 2015, though they did not finalize their divorce until 2018. They share three kids: Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
The “Argo” star wed Lopez in July 2022 in Las Vegas after rekindling their romance in 2021 following her split from retired baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
Though the “On the Floor” singer, 55, said in 2022 that she was sure she and Affleck finally got it right 20 years after being engaged the first time, rumors swirled in the spring that they were headed for divorce.
A source told Us Weekly in May that Garner was “encouraging” Affleck to “work on his marriage” to Lopez.
The outlet later reported that Lopez found an “unexpected ally” in Garner because they could relate. They also said Garner was “helpful” to the singer.
Garner was seen spending time with her ex-husband as reports swirled she was helping him and Lopez amid their marital woes, including on Father’s Day.
Despite Garner’s involvement, Lopez and Affleck could not save their marriage.
After Lopez spent the summer — and her 55th birthday — without Affleck, she filed for divorce Tuesday on the second anniversary of their formal Georgia wedding.
A person close to the “Maid in Manhattan” star told Page Six she filed on that date to signify that she is “a woman standing up in her own way.”
In court docs, she listed April 26 as their date of separation and did not ask for spousal support.
She also requested that Affleck be denied spousal support.
