Ben Affleck ‘had control’ over Jennifer Lopez’s documentary about their marriage: report

Ben Affleck reportedly “had control” over Jennifer Lopez’s documentary about their marriage.

Insiders told People that the “Gone Girl” actor was heavily involved in the creative process for the “I’m Real” singer’s Prime Video documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”

“He was the one who had control, pretty much,” a source told the outlet of the February project.

“[Affleck] was very much in favor [of the project], and he was a driving force for [Lopez] to do the movie and the album and then he insisted on the documentary, where it looked like he was hesitant and almost surprised by it,” the insider added.

“But that was a false narrative.”

Sources close to the estranged couple told Page Six the documentary was Affleck’s company Artists Equity’s idea and that Lopez’s team initially didn’t want to do it since she was focused on her ninth studio album, “This Is Me… Now,” and its corresponding video project.

An insider told People the “Good Will Hunting” star was “very supportive of [Lopez] making the movie and her album” and “knew every step of the way what she was doing.”

“He loved the movie and album, but when you look at the doc, it looks like he’s surprised by it and not signing up for it. He was playing the role of playing the regular guy and, meanwhile, he was the engine in back of it,” the source said, adding that Affleck “took it away from the director so he could have the narrative he wanted out there.”

The “Selena” actress, 55, and Affleck, 52, sparked breakup rumors three months after the documentary’s release.

Following months of speculation and rumors, Lopez filed for divorce from the dad of three on Aug. 20 after two years of marriage.

The pop star listed their date of separation as April 26 — though Page Six learned their marriage had been over since March.

Lopez cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

A friend of the mom of two told exclusively Page Six that she did everything she could to save their marriage but claimed Affleck “has a darkness to him.”
