Jennifer Lopez won’t be coming face-to-face with estranged husband Ben Affleck at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival — but she will cross paths with his BFF Matt Damon.
The group’s upcoming sports drama, “Unstoppable,” is set to premiere at the festival next month and sources confirmed to People on Friday that Damon, 53, will be in attendance.
The film was produced by Affleck, 52, and Damon’s production company, Artists Equity.
Meanwhile, Lopez has a supporting role in the movie, based on the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles.
Lopez plays Robles’ mother in the drama which also stars Jharrel Jerome, Michael Pena and Don Cheadle.
Earlier this week, Page Six revealed that Affleck would not attend the film’s big debut in Canada amid his divorce from Lopez, who still plans to walk the red carpet.
Although the “Hustlers” actress was cast months before the pair’s split, director William Goldenberg recently claimed his choice had nothing to do with their marriage.
“She had to be somebody who’s lived a life, and I felt like Jennifer was one of the few actresses who could play the part,” he told Vanity Fair.
“I think that she was right for it, and it was also serendipity that he happened to be married to the person we sort of wanted all along anyway.”
It’s unclear how the pair’s divorce is going to impact the press tour as Lopez previously made it clear she wasn’t interested in discussing the state of their marriage on the red carpet.
However, the now-exes will have to figure something out as this isn’t the only project they have in the works.
The “Jenny From the Block” singer also snagged a lead role in Affleck and Damon’s project “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
The film, based on the 1993 Broadway musical, recently wrapped filming. Lopez produced the film alongside the “Good Will Hunting” co-stars.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday — the second anniversary of their lavish Georgia wedding.
However, she listed their official date of separation as April 26, 2024 — just one week before they first sparked breakup rumors.
Despite that, insiders recently told us the pair started having issues as early as August 2022 while on their Lake Como honeymoon.
A source familiar with the situation told Page Six that Affleck “was unhappy with paparazzi following them.”
“She is an international superstar, and he acted like it came as a surprise that they would be followed around,” they said.
Although it was “supposed to be the happiest time of their life,” we’re told reality quickly set in for the two.
The pair reportedly didn’t sign a prenup and she has since filed to drop the “Argo” actor’s last name.
