Blake Lively’s sister, Robyn Lively, has jumped to her defense as criticism continues to plague the success of her latest film “It Ends With Us.”
The “Gossip Girl” alum, who celebrated her 37th birthday surrounded by her A-list pals Sunday, has faced a tough press tour in the lead-up to the film.
In addition to reports of creative differences on set, Blake has been accused of making several “mean girl” comments as old interview clips began to swirl online.
Now, her older sister has weighed in on the conversation after a fan left a comment on her social media tribute to her famous sister.
“Blake is a lovely human being! I hope she knows that the multitudes of people who love her is so much greater than the negative voices. Happy Birthday Blake!!” the fan wrote on Instagram.
Robyn, 52, then responded, “Thank you for this.”
The “Teen Witch” star’s birthday message to her sister read, “That’s my bday queen right there! I love this girl, my sister, my best friend, my little piggy back buddy! You are one of the best humans I know. HAPPY birthday sissy britches!”
Blake and Robyn are both the daughters of talent manager Elaine Lively.
Since Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel hit the big screen, rumors of alleged creative differences between Blake and the film’s director and leading man, Justin Baldoni, have surfaced.
Soon after, the actress faced major backlash over several previous interviews, including one where she was called out by a reporter who said she contemplated quitting journalism altogether after having an awkward interaction with the actress in 2016.
During the sit-down interview, Lively made a snarky comment about Norwegian reporter Kjersti Flaa’s “bump” after she congratulated a then-pregnant Lively on her impending arrival.
The journalist, however, was not pregnant at the time of their chat.
Lively was also called out earlier this week for her repeated use of transgender slurs in past interviews that recently resurfaced amid rumors of behind-the-scenes drama between her and her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni.
Earlier this month, another insider told us Lively was “impatient” on set, creating “obvious” tension among the cast as the two continued to butt heads over the final edit of the flick.
Blake was photographed kissing her husband, Ryan Reynolds, outside of friend Taylor Swift’s mansion during a star-studded pool party on Saturday.
The couple joined a slew of A listers, including Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, and Travis Kelce, at the 14-time Grammy winner’s Rhode Island abode.
