She’s flipping to “New Heights.”
Jason Kelce — who attended the 2024 Paris Olympics with wife Kylie — admitted he had doubts that Simone Biles could live up to her GOAT status at this year’s competition.
Jason divulged on Wednesday’s premiere of his and brother Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast that he was unsure how Biles, 27, would perform at the games as she is older than most of the other gymnasts competing.
“We watched like every [Team USA gymnastics] girl go and do the floor routine and Simone Biles was the last person and I’m like, you know she’s getting older. She’s a little bit… we’ll see how she looks,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, told his brother.
Travis reacted to Jason’s doubt with shock, telling his sibling that Biles is an “anomaly” — to which Jason immediately agreed.
“She is the anomaly because she jumped higher than everybody and it wasn’t even close,” the retired NFL star said.
“Like, you watch all these people do the floor routine, then it’s Simone’s at the end and within the first three seconds you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s different.'”
He continued, “She just jumped five feet higher than everybody else that has done this.”
Biles famously soars 12 feet in the air while tumbling in her floor routine.
Travis, 34, praised the Olympic champion for becoming the most decorated Olympic gymnast in history at this year’s competition after withdrawing from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to suffering from the twisties.
“It’s such a feel-good story knowing the past and everything that she’s had to go through and just to feel confident and getting back up there mentally,” Travis said. “It’s the best, man. So happy for her. And America is so proud of her, man.”
Jason agreed, saying that watching Team USA’s female gymnasts — who placed first in the team competition — receive their gold medals was the “highlight for the Olympics.”
Biles took home gold medals in the team finals, the individual all-around finals and the vault finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
She also won a silver medal for her floor routine.
She effectively became the most decorated gymnast in history with a total of 11 Olympic medals and an additional 30 World Championship medals.
