Love might cost a thing.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce “has the potential to get ugly” given that the pair did not sign a prenup before they eloped in Las Vegas in 2022.
The “On The Floor” hitmaker, 55, filed for divorce from the Oscar winner on Aug. 20 despite not wanting to pull the plug on their two-year marriage.
As they enter mediation — helmed by celebrity favorite divorce attorney Laura Wasser — a source told People that “there are some sticking points over financials.”
In her filing, Lopez wrote that their assets were “unknown” to her when she filed to end her ill-fated marriage to the filmmaker.
Without the legal doc in place to protect both parties’ assets, that leaves any income or property accrued during their marriage up as “community property” — meaning both spouses can be viewed as equal owners of property, income or debt regardless of who purchased or earned it.
According to California state law, only income earned during their marriage is subject to division.
In Lopez’s case, she starred in and produced several movies during the brief course of their marriage including “Shotgun Wedding,” “The Mother,” ‘This Is Me … Now’ and “Atlas.”
The 55-year-old also launched her ready-made cocktail brand, Delola, last year, pushing her net worth to a reported $400 million as of 2024.
Affleck, most recently, wrapped production on “The Accountant 2.” The 52-year-old also starred in “Air” and “Hypnotic” and produced “The Instigators” during their marriage. His net worth is reportedly lower than Lopez’s at $150 million.
The duo bought a plush Beverly Hills mansion in 2023 which they have since listed for $68 million.
What’s more, they each made millions of dollars through endorsements such as the Dunkin’ Donuts commercials they starred in.

According to her filing, Lopez waived spousal support and has asked the judge to deny any spousal support claims from Affleck.
The singer filed for divorce on the same day of the couple’s second wedding anniversary. They were married in a Georgia wedding ceremony in 2022 just one month after they eloped in Vegas.
Lopez filed on her own without the help of an attorney, marking her fourth divorce and Affleck’s second.
