“Married at First Sight” hints at a never-before-seen wife swap in Page Six’s exclusive preview of Season 18.
Page Six obtained a sneak peak of the upcoming season, premiering Oct. 15 on Lifetime, which features a cheating scandal between two couples.
“Infidelity between two couples is unprecedented in ‘Married at First Sight’ history,” psychologist and sex therapist Dr. Pia Holec shares in the shocking trailer.
Although “MAFS” blurred out the couples who were seen kissing, newlywed Karla, 33, calls one of the situations “dirty.”
The trailer then cuts to Michelle, 38, who is visibly upset. “Married people don’t sext other women,” David’s new wife quips.
Later, a mystery voice says, “What we have right here is a situation.”
Things continue to take a turn when Ikechi, 41, expresses doubts about the health of a relationship in the group.
“Do you think this relationship is healthy?” he asks a mystery person who quips, “Oh no!”
His new wife, Emem, 34, is then pictured hugging a different man during an outing at night.
A series of violence then ensues when several couples are seen slamming doors, kicking cabinets and lighting papers on fire.
Emem then adds fuel to the drama by wishing someone “nothing but the worst” during an intense conversation.
The newlyweds include Karla and Juan, Camille and Thomas, Madison and Allen, David and Michelle, along with Emem and Ikechi.
Ahead of the Season 18 premiere, two specials will air on Oct. 8: “MAFS: Matchmaking Special” and “MAFS: Kickoff Special.”
Kevin Frazier will host the two specials and Pastor Cal, Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pia are all set to return to give advice to the contestants setting out to marry a complete stranger.
“Married at First Sight” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
Fans can also watch “Married at First Sight: Afterparty” which will air after the season premiere at 10 p.m. ET.
