Nicole Richie gushed about sharing clothes with her 16-year-old daughter, Harlow.
“We are in each other’s closets. My mom never told me that I couldn’t borrow anything from her closet, so I have that approach with Harlow, too. She takes things of mine, I take things of hers,” she told People in an interview published Thursday.
The “Simple Life” star raved that her daughter has “really great basics” that she never thought about buying, and Harlow enjoys her jewelry collection.
“We pretty much share everything,” Richie, 42, said.
Richie — who also has son Sparrow, 14, with husband, Joel Madden — added that in addition to her daughter’s sense of style, she also has a “full Sephora in her bedroom” where she goes “shopping for free” as part of her competitive dancing competitions.
“When she competes it’s a lot of hair and makeup. She’s been dancing for a long time, and I never did her hair or makeup. She did it all. She can do lashes, she can contour. That is her passion. She loves it and she’s great at it,” she added.
Richie poked fun at herself for getting help from her daughter with makeup, despite doing her own makeup for years.
“I learn everything from her. You would think that I would know how to do my makeup after I have been getting it done for so long, but I’m really bad at it, and she teaches me everything,” she said.
The House of Harlow founder has mostly kept her children out of the spotlight, but Harlow and Sparrow made a rare red carpet appearance in April.
The family of four even matched in all-black outfits for the premiere of her film, “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.”
Richie’s famous dad, Lionel Richie, also joined the family for their night out in a matching all-black ensemble alongside his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Parigi, and his ex-wife, Brenda Harvey-Richie.
