Emergency first responders were reportedly called to Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia’s home shortly before his domestic violence arrest on Thursday.
Sources connected to the investigation told TMZ that an unidentified individual called 911 around 8:30 a.m. for a “medical emergency” but later canceled the request when paramedics and the fire department were on the way.
However, less than two hours later, the “Dancing with the Stars” pro was arrested and charged with felony corporal injury — which means he’s accused of physically harming someone at the residence with the use of force.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Chigvintsev, 42, married WWE alum Garcia — well known as Nikki Bella — in 2022. They celebrated their second anniversary on Monday.
The pair share a 4-year-old son named Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev.
Garcia, 40, revealed on her Instagram Story Wednesday that she was in the Downtown Napa area. Her whereabouts during her husband’s arrest are unknown at this time.
Reps for Chigvintsev and Garcia did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
After the professional dancer was arrested, he was booked into a Napa County Jail and his bail was posted at $25,000. Page Six confirmed he was released hours after his arrest.
Amid the domestic violence news, an insider told Page Six that he has “no plans” to return to “Dancing with the Stars” for its upcoming 33rd season.
He has competed on 12 seasons of the popular series and won Season 29 with Kaitlyn Bristowe.
Chigvintsev and Garcia met on “DWTS” in 2017 when they were set up as partners for its 25th season. The “Total Bellas” star confirmed their relationship in 2019.
In 2015, Chigvintsev’s former dance partner Fern Britton accused him of being physically rough with her while they were competing on the BBC show in 2012. The accusations have resurfaced amid his recent legal woes.
“[Artem] would look at my feet and just kick me or shove me,” the TV host claimed at the time, per HuffPost UK.
“He was like, ‘Shut your face. Go home before I kill you,'” she further alleged. “Or what was his other one? ‘If you go for a cup of tea now, I will blow off like an atomic bomb.'”
Chigvintsev denied her claims, saying, “I believe I treated Fern with respect and genuine care and these claims about me are the opposite of everything I believe in and the person I am.”
