Simone Reilander, the widow of Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner, posted a heartfelt tribute to her late husband.
“You were the dream of life,” she wrote in a translated German language Instagram post alongside a painting of Lugner. “And when I saw you shine at the sight of me, then I knew that I was yours too. In Love ?.”
Lugner died at his home on August 12 at age 91.
He married Reilander, 42, on June 1, less than two months before his death.
The couple tied the knot at Vienna City Hall in front of 50 guests and 30 members of the press.
Despite their nearly half-century age difference, Reilander boasted about their robust sex life, telling reporters after their wedding that they “had a very long wedding night. Longer than the wedding day.”
The construction magnate who opened Lugner City, the seventh-largest shopping center in Austria, in 1990, also dabbled in politics, attempting to run for Austrian president in 1998 and in 2016.
Lugner gained international notoriety for hosting his annual Vienna Opera Ball, which attracted bold-faced names, many of whom he paid to attend.
He shelled out $500,000 to Kim Kardashian to be his plus-one in 2014 and $150,000 to Linsday Lohan in 2010.
Other celebrity attendees included Priscilla Presley, Sophia Loren, Goldie Hawn, Geri Halliwell, Paris Hilton, Joan Collins, Pamela Anderson and Jane Fonda.
He was married to Christine Gmeiner from 1961 to 1978, Cornelia Laufersweiler from 1979 to 1983, Susanne Dietrich from 1984 to 1989, Christina Lugner from 1990 to 2007, and Playboy model Cathy Schmitz from 2014 to 2016.
Lugner is survived by four children from three previous relationships: Alexander, Andreas, Nadin and Jacqueline.
Reilander is set to take over the family business.
In a previous interview, Lugner revealed that his wife had assumed responsibility for the business.
“My wife wears the pants now. She should support me actively. From now on, we will share my work,” he said, calling her the “sole boss” of his empire.
