Unc is coming clean.
Shannon Sharpe has admitted that the viral Instagram sex tape that accidentally aired for his 3.2 million Instagram followers has left him “embarrassed” and “disappointed.”
On Wednesday, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN personality unknowingly shared a livestream on social media in which he was heard engaging in sex acts with an unknown female.
While the screen showed nothing but a wooden floor, viewers could hear moaning as well as some NSFW words from Sharpe and his lady.
“Obviously I am embarrassed,” Sharpe said during an emergency episode of “Nightcap.”
“Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details — the audio — heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons.”
He continued, “There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I’m behind closed doors. … I’m very disappointed in myself, not for the act.”
“I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age that engage in activities, but for the audio to be heard I’m disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down,” he added.
Sharpe initially claimed his Instagram account had been hacked in a post on X before he deleted the post.
“Beware my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning, my team and I are working vigorously to figure this out,” he posted and deleted on his Instagram Story Wednesday.
After the video blew up on social media, Sharpe owned up to the unfortunate mishap and admitted that his Instagram account was not hacked.
“I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity,” Sharpe said. “I did not know IG live. I’ve never turned IG live on so I don’t know how it works and all of sudden my other phone started going off.”
Sharpe, 56, is known to be private about his dating life and has never been married.
Not much is known about the women he has dated, except for the fact that he was previously engaged to fitness trainer Katy Kellner in 2016.
The former Denver Broncos star is a dad to son Kiari and daughters Kayla and Kaley, but information about their mothers is scarce.
